Winter to Spring Wardrobe Transition

Are you starting to think about spring cleaning?  Maybe you’ve already tackled your office clutter but can’t decide which pieces in your closet need to be stored away until next season.  Let me give you one piece of advice to make your closet cleanout a breeze – don’t put your clothes in a box, instead think of how you can mold each piece to fit your style needs.  Spring is one of the best seasons to practice this rule.  To me, spring means fashion versatility!  Below are my favorite pieces that will transition from your winter wardrobe to your spring wardrobe.

Let’s start with your winter knee-high boots.  This is the perfect piece to pair with any of your spring dresses.  This combination looks great all year round because it will elongate your leg and make you look ten times taller.

Now let’s move onto your dusters and long coats.  Let your coat or duster be the statement piece in your spring outfit and pair it with a simple white tank, a great pair of jeans, and a spring shoe.

One of my favorite timeless winter staples is a black leather jacket.  Leather will be sure to keep you warm on top on a cool spring day, so feel free to mix in a spring/summer piece on the bottom.  Try adding in shorts with a pair of bright spring colored sneakers.

Lastly, don’t be too quick to store away your sweaters.  My favorite way to wear my sweaters in the spring is to pair it with a fun spring skirt.  Make sure you front tuck your sweater into your skirt.  This outfit is easy to dress down with a pair of sneakers or dress up with an open toe heeled sandal.

These outfits will be sure to transition your winter wardrobe into stylish spring outfits.  These outfits will not only give your wardrobe more versatility, but you will be able to wear your favorite pieces more than once a year.  Think outside the box during your spring closet cleanout and see how your winter pieces can be styled with your spring wardrobe.
