Tablescapes

With the holidays upon us, there are parties to be had, dinners to make, mantles to decorate and the question that keeps popping up… what in the world do I put on that table top??  Well don’t panic, the beauty of tablescapes is that they can come in various forms, and often you have the materials you need already at your fingertips.  Be creative and use items you already have around the house, it is all in the arrangement.  Here are some easy tips to create the perfect tablescape for that special occasion…

Pick a color scheme.  If your table is neutral try a bold burst of color to attract the eye

Mix styles and patterns.  Often an unexpected item can create a powerful style statement.

If you have one piece you love, use it as a standout piece.  Let everything else take a backseat and give your piece some room to breathe.

For a last minute fix, stack some pictures together from around the house for a bohemian chic look

Or play it safe and stick to one theme… remember strength in numbers.

And my favorite trick, add some greenery!  There is nothing easier or more pleasing than nature herself.

Design Tip:

Remember that a table top does not have to be perfect, but interesting is key.  So try to be creative and resourceful around your house.  And most important have fun… your guests will love it!
