Nutrient-Packed Natural and Delicious Energy Drink

Don’t be fooled with all the energy drinks on the market. They are full of sugar, food coloring, preservatives and chemicals. Not exactly what you are looking to fuel your body with, especially if you have taken the time to work out. You want to give yourself something that will help you perform at an optimal level and provide energy all day long. This is simple, do-it-yourself nutritious and delicious drink tastes great and will make you feel great, too.

In a vegetable juicer, combine:

3 cups of Spinach

4-5 Carrots

3/4 cup loosely packed Parsley

2 cups of Beet greens

1 Grapefruit, peeled

1 cup Coconut water

1 small piece of fresh Ginger

There are endless vegetable juice combinations with countless health benefits, The combinations for this drink will charge your body before and/or after workouts. Here’s why:

Spinach has a high content of B vitamins, which boost energy levels and are ideal to help get you through the workout. It also has vitamins A, C, E and K. Vitamin C is essential for stopping the oxidative damage that a hard workout can create.

Like spinach, carrots are also a good source of vitamins C, B6, folate, potassium. A large portion of the calories in carrots come from sugar, this is a natural energy booster pre-workout.

Parsley also has all the beneficial nutrients that spinach has. In addition, it is an excellent diuretic that purifies the blood and accelerates the excretion of toxins.

Beet greens have similar properties to spinach and serve as a good source of potassium and sodium to help balance out the fluid lost from a hard workout.

Grapefruit adds flavor and is full of vitamin C. Unlike some fruits, it doesn’t raise the blood sugar and is very alkalizing.

Coconut water is added to the fresh vegetable juice because it is your best electrolyte and rehydration drink. Its electrolyte composition is almost identical to our own blood plasma.

Lastly, fresh ginger not only adds a little kick to the flavor of the drink, but to your heart as well. Researchers have found that ginger can actually have a dramatic effect on the cardiovascular system by preventing atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) as well as lowering LDL cholesterol levels.
