After my first class, over 13 years ago, I was in awe of how we stretched and strengthened our feet and ankles in ways I never even knew were possible. This immediately released chronic back pain from bartending, waiting tables, and sitting at desks answering phones in my twenties. My 20’s LA Lifestyle! I know many of you can relate.
The efficiency of the practice is key for those who don’t have the time to commit to hours of yoga a day. Life is happening, work has to be done, most of us have obligations. You’ll learn how to build your own heat quickly. Students don’t need to rely on an external heating system to get their body warm. This was eye opening to me. I used to practice yoga for 90 minutes in a 110 degree room 6 days a week. Learning to build your own heat also makes practicing more accessible at home and while traveling.
As with all Hatha Yoga, this practice will help you live to your full human potential. Its honest. It can be confronting. It will help unblock physical and emotional obstructions. It will get you out of your head, quickly. It will challenge you. It will teach you incredible patience. Over time it will transform you on every level you are open to. It is also the the safest practice I’ve done. I’ve tried almost all of them.

I was reading an excerpt from a Shadow Yoga book that mentioned when we age, we decay from the ground up. Hence the need for many elderly people to use walkers, wheelchairs and scooters to get around. Humans are now living longer than ever. You know how the saying goes, if you don’t move it, you lose it. Lets keep moving our bodies responsibly, then in our later years we can say Thank You to our younger selves.
