As a Realtor, when marketing a home it’s important to let the home speak to you as far as to how to attract the ultimate buyer. Believe me there are clues, you just have to be open to them the moment you walk in the door.
For example, on my last listing appointment the owners’ occupations were key. One of them is involved with a major high fashion label in Beverly Hills and his partner is an accomplished photographer. As you can imagine, the finishes on their home were meticulously sophisticated – a few examples include a master closet to die for and a center hall art gallery befitting of any prized collection. They even incorporated a concealed underfloor TV lift system & built in home theater. Oh yeah…add a sparkling saltwater pool and zero edge spa with smartphone control in the mix! I couldn’t wait to get started.
I thought the ideal way to promote this home was the obvious – combine Fashion, Art and Real Estate into a lifestyle video piece. I just needed the right ingredient to get started…it had to start off with the perfect talent. And as luck would have it, on my last visit to the hair salon my stylist hooked me up with Braylen Brooks; aka: The Real Life Mannequin. He’s known as a social media affluent style influencer as well as a fashion forward male model. Braylen has the perfect swagger to pull this off. Right from the open, he effortlessly walks through the home and takes you with him, right down to the last clip where he sips tea at the iconic Melrose neighborhood located just blocks away.
We worked on the script, talent, music and the visuals as if it were a short film. We kept in mind that the bulk of our audience reside in Los Angeles and are in the entertainment industry. They expect “out of the box” style promotions and are tough critics to boot. We have mere seconds to grab their attention!
Los Angeles Realtors are literally now in the entertainment business. Our goal: to sell the dream of a lifestyle worth duplicating. And our new mantra is: Lights, Camera…Action! Sound familiar?
