Hello! I’m Patrick, owner and principal designer of Patrick Ediger Interior Design. I’m so thrilled to be joining this community here at My L.A. Lifestyle where I’ll be contributing regular posts, sharing design tips, and highlighting my favorite things about our magical city. I’m also excited to feature some of our own incredible artisans and craftspeople here in L.A.

Before I jump in though, I wanted to introduce myself. Originally from the midwest, I’ve called Los Angeles home for over 16 years. Drawn to Southern California by its iconic style and architecture (and the 280+ days of sunshine), it’s the people that have made L.A. feel like home all of these years later. This city has a diversity and richness that I cannot get enough of. From locals to people from around the globe — the creatives, artists, and artisans, the logical and technical-minded folx to those that are just plain funnn — it’s all of these individuals that give this world-class city its soul.

After years at a high-profile interior design firm in West Hollywood, and a few stints as a contract designer, I opened PEID in 2010. The past 10 years have been so absolutely rewarding. I am inspired daily by the artisans, designers, and building experts I’ve met and teamed up with along the way. I’ve also had the opportunity to partner with the most incredible creatives, visionaries, celebrities, and CEOs, who trust my team and me to reimagine their spaces and build their dream homes. I mean it sincerely when I say I have the best job in the world.

Blogging has been a recurring, quiet thought in the back of my mind for years now, yet somehow the timing never felt quite right. But now, as more and more of our lives are lived online, this invitation seems like the final nudge I needed. I’m excited to share new ideas, spaces, and faces with you and hope you feel moved to create your own sanctuaries as you follow along.

The popularity of design and home makeover shows has sparked tremendous interest in the field of interior design. Instagram and Pinterest provide both stunning inspiration and opportunities for gifted designers to share their vision with the world. But all of these platforms typically lack the behind-the-scenes realities of the interior design process. I’m excited to pull back the curtain on that here in future posts. To answer questions like:

  • How can I create the best relationship with my interior designer?
  • How will home design evolve in a post-COVID world?
  • What role can interior design play in our health and wellbeing?
  • What does an interior design photoshoot actually look like?

As well as some less design-centric (but equally important) topics, like beloved L.A. neighborhoods, favorite shopping and dining hotspots, and a few go-to cocktail recipes.

As we meet here in the coming months, I’m eager to introduce you to some of the industry leaders I rely on. Photographers, artisans, and stylists. Experts in textiles, architecture, florals, and home organization. It’s my hope that I can provide a more comprehensive look into the multifaceted field of interior design and the level of care, expertise, and precision that goes into curating and executing luxury spaces. I also want to pay homage to the city that gives me daily life, energy, and inspiration.

I hope you’ll join me here in the months ahead. Is there a topic you’d like to learn more about? Shoot me an email at hello@patrickediger.com.

And follow me and My LA Lifestyle & stay connected!

XO,
PE
