So, I was at the beauty shop last week where all enlightening things take place and my hairdresser’s next client had arrived early looking frizzed and frazzled. He took one look at her disheveled appearance and asked her, “Do you live in the Land of Men?” Meaning, when a lady is not in the company of the opposite sex (and in some cases the same sex) for long periods of time she tends to forget to take care of herself. There’s a schlumpy quality that takes over. We all go through it, even those who are married.
Living in the Land of Men is such a fabulous concept. To me, it’s a broad statement about taking care of yourself. About loving yourself. And with Valentine’s Day approaching fast it’s important to remind ourselves that the most important person to love is OURSELF. So, with that in mind, one of my favorite and most inspiring people Louise Hay shares her 12 Commandments to help you learn how to love yourself:
Stop All Criticism. Forgive Yourself. Don’t Scare Yourself. Be Gentle and Kind and Patient. Be Kind to Your Mind. Praise Yourself. Support Yourself. Be Loving to Your Negatives. Take Care of Your Body. Do Mirror Work. Love Yourself… Do It Now. Have Fun. |
