Dress for Success

Gluttony – it’s the one of the seven sins for a reason. The sheer chaos of “too much” extends from food to drink to the accumulation of material goods – and yes, it even extends to shoes. Too many shoes a problem?? Well, sometimes…

(Yes, this is a picture of Khloe Kardashian’s closet…)

If it’s time to clean out your shoe closet, we highly suggest making a donation to DRESS FOR SUCCESS. Founded in 1996 by Nancy Lublin (with a $5000 inheritance from her grandfather), Dress for Success is a non-profit, four-star charity that prepares women in need for job training, interviews, and, equally important, provides stylish and appropriate business-wear for job interviews. Once the woman lands her job, she can come back to Dress for Success where she is fitted for one week’s worth of fabulous outfits. Not only will she get blazers, skirts, dresses, and blouses, but also handbags, belts, jewelry and SHOES – everything she needs to reenter the job force with confidence.

Their headquarters is located at Hollywood and Vine and they always need donations (especially larger size shoes!). You can drop of your goods and get a tour of their offices, or better yet, arrange a fun girls night where all your friends bring clothes and shoes to donate.

In addition to clothing, accessory and financial donations, Dress For Success is also looking for volunteers to act as stylists and shoppers. What better way to awaken your inner-fashionista!
