With the Laver as a closet staple, the real deal is in the design your own category…at mi adidas. We prefer the samba (under ORIGINALS) for it’s classic look, evocation of the 70s and Pele, and Indoor Soccer. There are other plenty of other styles from which to choose. The bottom line is that you get to pick your own look, feel, design, style, and colors. Take it up a notch and match the stripe to your pocket square…wait, that’s for next week.

If you are like us, sneakers are crucial. They help you get through the day in comfort, while putting a punctuation mark on the day’s style. Leather is not completely out, mind you, nor is the flip-flop. Neither, however, offers the versatility of a cool kick. Whether you’re rocking a t-shirt or a blazer, the sneak is a vital rounding out of the modern Angeleno male.
The cool kick is also well priced. You can typically afford 3 for the price of one of the fancy leather ones. If you take care of them, they can last a while, too. The Adidas Rod Laver is a house favorite. The white and blue can be dressed up and down, and while certainly on the preppier side of things (it is a court shoe, after all), it has one of the most important characteristics of the above….it’s washable.
