As I and my cronies traipse around town, delivering goodies for events, running errands for hotel guests and picking up the latest must-have items, we are always hearing about new things to do. Here are a few for different ideas to change up the typical weekend out for dinner or drinks :

High Tea at The Penninsula Hotel: Don’t be fooled, the Afternoon Tea at the Penninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills is well known and attracts all kinds, young and old. Choose from an extensive assortment of loose-leaf teas, or sip on champagne while nibbling on everything from fresh fruit to baked scones, as live harp music floats through the air. Afterward (or during), you can wander over to the bar for more mingling. The Penn offers seatings daily at noon, 2:30pm and 5pm.

Medeski Martin & Wood at Royce Hall: I have seen this jazz-funk trio play live and they will get you on your feet. Their show at Royce Hall, An Evening With Medeski, Martin & Wood, Acoustic & Electric promises to fill the hall with a medley of divine sounds and leave you thrilled. This is not one to be missed. Friday 4/26/13 at 8pm.

Rosenthal Tasting Room in Malibu: Okay, so wine tasting might not be so off the beaten track BUT you can’t beat a wine tasting by the ocean. Rosenthal Winery recently reopened on PCH in Malibu with a bigger and better home. Sit out in their garden area, take in the ocean air and taste a variety of wines with friends or family. Not a bad way to spend a weekend afternoon.
