Cabin Fever

As the weather cools down and there is a crispness to the air, my annual cabin fever starts to creep in.  Now when I say “cabin fever” I mean the longing to sequester myself in a cabin in the woods.  There is nothing more invigorating than enjoying Fall in a cozy cabin getaway.  Cabins bring us back to nature and allow us to detach from our hectic schedules for awhile.  They are filled with the smells of fires and leaves, and serve as a reminder that life can indeed be simple again.
These days cabins come in every shape and size, from modern to rustic.  Stretching from California to Vermont, there is a cabin out there to fit all needs.  So this fall take some time to unwind and recharge, and enjoy the quaint pleasures and solitude of a good old cabin.

Here are some of my favorites….

This cabin in the mountains of Washington State is pure heaven… modern, but cozy.  The ultimate tree house.

These charming group of cabins in northern California are sunny and warm, and what magnificent vegetation.

Hello view…
Now we move to Texas to take a peek at this unique, modern cabin.  Love the simplicity and innovative design.
So fun for kids!

Lastly, this cabin in the Catskills steals the show. Proving you can have good design anywhere.

Design Tip:

This Fall if you don’t have time to escape and want to capture that cabin décor try some temporary accessories to bring nature indoors, such as feathers in a bowl or a birds nest.  It might not smell like a campfire, but it will make you smile.
