American Vintage

When I saw the email in my inbox from Anthropologie featuring Imogene and Willie my heart skipped a beat.  Imogene and Willie is a home grown fashion company based in Nashville, who makes hands down the best jeans you have ever seen.  The husband and wife team, Carrie and Matt Edelman, happen to be good friends of our family’s, so we follow their success with pride.  Carrie and Matt, not only sell denim, but they have created a family and fashion culture in Nashville that is spreading like wildfire.  Their handmade and humble vibe translates seamlessly to interiors too, as you can see in these shots from their folksy store…
I could literally move into this sofa

This American vintage style is all about warmth and comfort, friends and family, and rooms created with a loving hand.  There is nothing sterile or too precious in these spaces, but pieces with heritage that have been well loved and lived in.   Roman Alonso, owner of Commune, creates this essence in his inviting Los Angeles home.

You can feel the texture in these rooms, and see his story.
This Commune place setting makes me smile, and ready for some down home cooking!
Design Tip:
No matter what your design style may be, remember to tell your story.  Adding personal touches and pieces with history will make your home more inviting and interesting to others.  And most importantly it will make you happy.
