Being a native Los Angeleno, I have collected a pretty decent go-to list of the best local sources, professionals & retailers for literally absolutely almost everything. My list changed of course this time last year, with new needs and new normals, but we can all agree at an amazing time when so many incredible apps and services sprung up and made our life so easy. Services which are actually so incredible, that we will continue to use them after we get back out there…here we go!
Shoeber– The Uber of Shoe repair! They pick up and deliver at no charge and offer the same high level of service that they offer at their workshop at the Beverly Connection, without the hassle of parking to drop off and pick up!
Flower Truck LA – A post-Covid huge success story of a flower shop forced to close their doors that has taken their flowers on the road all over town each week. They curate THE most beautiful flowers at great prices and do so much for our community by donating percentages of their sales to different organizations, and the shopping experience is ½ of the fun!
They post their schedule on Instagram weekly.
Dumpling– An app that will connect you with a real true personal shopper that will get anything from outside the normal venues. As in they will shop for you at Trader Joe’s list, or even from farmers’ markets and specific multiple retailers all in one trip.
Rinse – I think the best app for laundry and dry cleaning, partly because they take pictures of each item they pick up and care for each piece along the way. Also, they conveniently pick up and drop off in the evening, when most of us are home, I never worry about missing them and, if so, they are very responsive on their app!
Unplug -my favorite meditation app that allows you to search by your intention, the time you have, or the teacher you like. A studio in Santa Monica, that I used to frequent (and can’t wait to go back to) is now in my pocket everywhere I go for curated meditation teachings, and even live guided experiences.
Philosophie SuperFoods– LA based Business Health and Wellness momma, Sophie Jaffe creates the best and yummiest superfood powders that can be sprinkled on almost anything to power up your foods… her Fall Vibes blend turns a morning, and afternoon zoom-mode coffee into a delicious chai elixir that makes my caffeine intake healthy
Imperfect foods – Subscription Boxes of food that are not supermarket pretty enough, but are equally as delicious and at great prices. They also carry overstock from a variety of purveyors that you can add to your own custom box selections each week. During the year I have used them I have yet to find anything imperfect with what I received.
Sparkle Yard– Staring at my deck and outdoor area for months really showed me how certain aspects were neglected, or could simply look a lot cleaner. Sparkle Yard is a hybrid service of a cleaning crew and a gardener- they treat your outdoors like the indoors and immaculately clean those neglected cobwebs, built-up outdoor gunk barbecues, they take care of outdoor upholstery and they really do windows!
Olga Lorencen Skin Care– Olga is truly one of the most sought after celebrity facialists, but she is also the most badass girl boss who brings her scientific beauty secrets, to us, in a box! Her Ageless Facial in Box is one of the most revolutionary night masks (made from snow mushrooms!) that will make your skin literally shimmer in the morning.
