2 Perfect Days in The Hamptons

As Compass continues to grow and expand with offices across the nation, it’s enabled me to expand my reach and collaborate with my fellow agents. I decided to start an on-going series called: Two Perfect Days.  We will feature an agent from various Compass locations to highlight their city.  To launch this series;  I welcome Jessica Vertullo; our Hampton’s Real Estate Specialist.  I was not only struck by her professionalism, but also her warm and friendly disposition that is infectious. Enjoy Jess’s article on her own home town; The Hamptons.  Brought to you by: Laura Pardini, Your L.A. Go-To Agent and Founder of My LA Lifestyle.

From shopping in Southampton to dining out in Montauk, each Hampton town is bursting with its own character. Its all about being active outdoors and knowing best how to avoid crowds- the Hamptons have a lot more to offer than the going to clubs and hot spots!

Day 1

Lodging Option
Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is a Hampton’s icon and the only four-season resort in Montauk. A highlight for me is the indoor, Olympic size salt water pool overlooking the ocean, this is a treat to go to on a winter day.

6:00 am: eat local berries and eggs from North Sea Farms  , review new property listings, take my rescue dog Lulu to road G a known surf spot, due to both the break and the ease of transporting your board onto the sand via car, to check out surf and go for beach run finished off by a dip in the ocean!

10:00 am paddle boarding in my back yard around scallop and national golf course
While paddle boarding home at a secret spot to clam I fill up my water backpack, paddle board home with fresh clams.

1:00 pm Boat ride to Sunset Beach on Shelter Island or Duryea’s for lunch. Enjoy great music on the ride back. Anchor and swim in secluded spots.

7:00 pm – meet up with friends again at Road G Beach BBG. Surf and grill until the sun goes down. Night swimming is a MUST.

Day 2

Lodging option:

The Maidstone Inn-This historic yet chic property in the center of East Hampton, is just steps from the village and a bike ride to the beach (with free beach cruiser loaners available).

8:00 am Minardi Training Beach with the one and only Coach Minardi. This is an exhilarating mind-body changing experience on the ocean that you can’t miss!

11:00 am swing by Round Swamp Farm’s Bridgehampton store to pick up garden-fresh salads and handpicked fruit for a light lunchtime picnic on the beach. A local favorite beach, Sagg Main is quiet and pristine—a long stretch of soft white sand flanked by undulating dunes and crashing waves.

4:30 pm HAPPY HOUR!  Wölffer Estate Vineyard, where wine-and-cheese pairings are served on a terrace overlooking rows of manicured vines. Wölffer rosé is synonymous with summertime in the Hamptons and I love it so much that I jokingly refer to it as “Wölffer water,” sipping it at lunch, dinner, and anytime in between.

7:00 pm, make your way to East Hampton’s Blue Parrot,a laid back Tex-Mex cantina that serves margaritas in mason jars.

Late night head to The Stephen Talkhouse, Amagansett’s intimate yet rowdy live music venue set in an old shingled house with white shutters. It’s notoriously unpretentious for the Hamptons even though its legendary stage has hosted everyone from local acts to Rock and Roll Hall of Famers like Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, and the Rolling Stones. Personally, one of my favorite venues to see live music.
