The Power of the Dress

Having owned the clothing stores Polkadots and Moonbeams Vintage and Modern for the majority of my life, I have come to realize how powerful wearing a dress can be.  Just the sheer feel of the fabric moving around ones'  legs beckons and stimulates the senses.

Through the years I have styled my customers for numerous occasions both big and small from ballroom to backyard party and know that  wearing a dress  is more likely to make a woman feel sexy and special, close the deal, get the part, get the guy ... just to name a few.

Below are some examples of dresses for spring and summer that combined with the wearer, create a force field that exudes radiance, beauty and yes, power. Ultimately, handing the control to the woman to do with as she pleases, reach her goal and rock the room!  (Have I gotten my point across?)

I  Love Mini dresses! Fun, short and flirty, this vintage head turner was purchased by Betsy Newman, photographer, for her USC graduate ball this week.

This spring, I love the  longer lengths that are happening. Here, Fleace, owner of Black Girl Travel, sports this sophisticated shape in a soft tie-die fabric .  Great for her recent trip to Africa .

Next, glamorous long sequined vintage gown and Celine Mod couture get the point across for the Anna Wintour Obama Runway-to - Win event in NYC.

And finally, these are vintage inspired dresses by Stop Staring, both demure and sassy. They have a fabulous fit and are fantastic for going from day to night.

Most dresses can be purchased at polkadots and moonbeams. Vintage dresses are one of a kind.

I love the halter and skirt. It has a very glamorous retro vibe!
